Summary of Duties
The Head Cook prepares, cooks, and serves food in a nutrition program for older adults in accordance with Title VI guidelines.
The Head Cook will:
- Prepare 40 to 60 congregational meals and 40 to 70 home-delivered meals.
- Plan and prepare monthly menus with assistance from the Indian Health Service registered dietician.
- Maintains required records and purchase orders; estimates daily/weekly food supplies; assists with orders.
- Ensures work areas are kept clean and sanitized, and follows all safety guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess a High School diploma or GED, and have at least one (1) year of experience in the preparation of meals for groups over twenty-five (25).
- Knowledge of purchasing principles, portion-control, work simplification, and special work duties.
- Must be able to lift 50 lb objects with proper lifting skills.
- Must have a Food Handlers Permit for local health requirements.
- Must have a valid State of Oklahoma Driver’s License.
- Must pass a drug screening test.
