Accounting Tech

Summary of Duties

The Accounting Tech will be responsible for:

Preparation and disbursement of payments for the Finance Office.
Create and review payment voucher requests for accounting coding accuracy, supporting documentation, or discrepancies.
Prepare and enter journal entries as needed into the financial system
Maintain a filing system regarding payments.
Following Fiscal Policies and Procedures for bank deposits and withdrawals, and the writing of checks.
Prepare Monthly bank reconciliations for program accounts.
Ensures the safety and confidentiality of the Apache Tribe’s Finance and records.

The Accounting Tech will be under the direct supervision of the Finance Officer. The Accounting Tech must possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.

Qualifications and Experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

An Associate’s Degree or two years of verifiable experience in Finance.
Proficient in MIP Software, Sage, MS Excel, and Word.
Typing Skills and ten-key proficiency.
Previous accounting experience required.
