General Election Rescheduled

When Is The Election?
The Apache Tribe of Oklahoma’s 2020 General Election is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2020; polls will open from 8:00 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m. Polling sites will be located at the Apache Tribe AOA Building in Anadarko and the Bohart building in Apache. Voters that usually vote in Fort Cobb will now have to come to Anadarko.
Voter Eligibility
To be eligible to vote, voters must be members of the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma and at least 18 years of age on the day of the election. Each voter must have a valid identification which is issued by the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma, State driver’s license, or a State identification card.
Absentee Ballots
The Apache Tribal Election Board wanted to ensure that all eligible voters received the opportunity to vote and notified the out of state voters and out of district voters by mail and ask if you weren’t a resident of the established polling districts; Anadarko, Apache, or Fort Cobb the voter would need to vote by absentee ballot. Voters were notified they could request an absentee ballot by writing, emailing or calling the Apache Tribal Election Board no later than March 13, 2020. If you did not receive a notice of the request for absentee ballots you should contact the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma’s Enrollment office and update your mailing address. ELECTION ORDINANCE: ARTICLE IX. ABSENTEE VOTING. SECTION 4. RESPONSIBILITY FOR PROVIDING NOTICE OF ADDRESS: The responsibility for providing current mailing addresses shall rest with the individual voter.
Absentee Ballot Deadline
For those that have absentee ballots if you haven’t already sent them back, please make sure they are mailed back by or before June 27, 2020.
Ballot Affidavit Notarization Waived
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Apache Election Board has agreed to wave the notarization of the affidavit for the 2020 General Election. The Affidavit still must be signed by the voter and a copy of the voter’s ID must accompany the affidavit. Masks Are Required At The Polling Places
For the safety of our Election Board and the voters, All voters will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
