Apache Tribe Official COVID-19 Statement
March 17th, 2020
On March 17th, the Apache Business Committee with help of key administration employees, have discussed and agreed that it is in the best interest to close facilities to the general public. The Apache Tribe will still conduct day to day operations, but highly encourage patrons to conduct their business over the phone or to visit the tribal website for employee email directory and correct forms. Below is a list of major changes in key grant programs for our tribal members and community citizens.
Major Changes In Key Grant Programs:
- Apache Tribe AOA: The facility will be closed to the general public but will operate as a curb service. Employees will bring out the meals to our elderly guests, so they do not have to get out of their vehicle. The AOA will still be delivering meals to their patrons as well.
- Apache Tribe Food Distribution: The facility will be closed to the general public, but members will need to call in their order over the phone and pick it up. This limits person to person contact, but also protects our tribal employees as well. For food orders call: (405) 247-5883
- Apache Tribe CHR: The CHR program staff is limiting their contact to the community citizens. In an effort to limit the spread of the COVID-19 Virus, they are suspending services of transportation for medical appointments and home health visits. The Service that will still be provided, is the pick up of medication refills (must call in refills before the CHR staff can pick up). Numbers to call are: (405) 247-7000 or (405) 247-2781
- Apache Tribe Tax Administration: The tax administration will be doing renewals by mail (copy of driver’s license, CDIB and vehicle insurance) must be included. We are currently out of new tags as of 03/17/2020 because of delivery issues of local postal carriers. We do currently have handicap and veteran tags in the office. Please call Sandy Jay for more information by phone: 405-247-6115
**Thank you for understanding the Apache Tribes efforts in further putting our tribal members, employees, elders, children and community as our number one priority through this COVID-19 proactive response. **
